Logistics Viewpoints is pleased to welcome Angeline Fernandes as an industry analyst specializing in warehouse automation, supply chain execution, and logistics technology. Angeline brings a combination of hands-on industrial engineering experience, manufacturing expertise, and business education to her coverage of the technologies and operational challenges shaping today’s supply chains.

Before joining the Logistics Viewpoints team, Angeline developed experience across several major manufacturing and supply chain organizations, including DHL Supply Chain, Bath & Body Works, Abbott, and Nestlé. Her background spans distribution operations, industrial engineering, packaging development, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and automation.

Most recently, Angeline has served as a Lead Industrial Engineer at DHL Supply Chain, where her responsibilities include improving operational efficiency, optimizing facility layouts, and supporting engineering and continuous improvement initiatives. Her work has included warehouse equipment, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, and fulfillment operations, giving her direct experience with many of the technologies she now covers as an industry analyst.

At DHL, Angeline has led projects involving facility redesign, equipment performance, preventive maintenance, cost reduction, and operational safety. Her experience includes initiatives to increase packaging efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve the performance of automated and semi-automated systems. This operational background provides a valuable perspective on the challenges companies encounter when implementing and maintaining supply chain technologies.

Earlier in her career, Angeline held engineering positions at Bath & Body Works, where she supported packaging engineering and product development; Abbott, where she worked on equipment reliability and preventive maintenance; and Nestlé, where she participated in engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing operations.

In addition to her industry experience, Angeline serves as an adjunct instructor at Columbus State Community College, teaching manufacturing engineering subjects including electrical controls, pneumatic systems, and electric motor controls. Her teaching experience complements her engineering background and reflects an interest in developing the technical skills needed in modern industrial operations.

Angeline holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University and a bachelor’s degree in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering from The Ohio State University. She is based in the Columbus, Ohio, area.

Bringing an Operational Perspective to Supply Chain Technology

Warehouse automation and supply chain execution technologies are advancing rapidly, but successful adoption requires more than selecting the right equipment or software. Companies must consider how technologies integrate with existing operations, affect workforce productivity, improve reliability, and ultimately deliver a measurable return on investment.

Angeline’s combination of industrial engineering and operational experience will help inform Logistics Viewpoints’ coverage of these challenges. Her areas of focus include warehouse management systems (WMS), robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), frontline workforce technologies, and the broader evolution of distribution and fulfillment operations.

Angeline has already begun contributing to Logistics Viewpoints with articles examining these issues. In Why SKU Selection Can Make or Break an AS/RS Business Case, she explores the importance of matching inventory characteristics to automation strategies and the implications for operational performance and investment returns.

Her article, Can Real-Time Voice Translation Improve Warehouse Productivity and Employee Engagement?, examines how emerging communication technologies can help address language barriers while supporting productivity, safety, and workforce engagement in warehouse environments.

Both topics reflect an important principle in supply chain technology: the value of innovation is ultimately determined by how effectively it improves real-world operations.

We are excited to welcome Angeline to Logistics Viewpoints and look forward to sharing her research, industry analysis, and practical perspectives with our readers.
